At the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, actress Ruchi Gujjar made headlines around the world with both her striking looks and her stirring ode to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Ruchi made a strong show of leadership, tradition, and patriotism by donning a specially designed necklace.
“The necklace is more than a jewellery—it is a symbol of strength, vision, and India’s rise on the world stage. By wearing it at Cannes, I wanted to honour our Prime Minister, whose leadership has taken India to new heights.” shared Ruchi. The carefully crafted piece, embellished with traditional Rajasthani motifs and based on PM Modi’s signature style gave her red carpet appearance more cultural and emotional weight.
Her ensemble— a stunning gold lehenga created by Roopa Sharmaa, glistened with embroidery, Gota Patti, and mirror work, perfectly encapsulated Jaipur’s regal creativity. The outfit, with its shimmering gold fabric and detailed craftsmanship, reflected a contemporary take on Rajasthani customs.
To complement her lehenga, Ruchi wore a handcrafted Bandhani dupatta by Zaribari, designed by Ram, adorned with Zardozi and Gota Patti work. It represented Rajasthan’s deep-rooted textile heritage and spiritual connection to Indian culture. “Wearing this dupatta felt like I was draping the soul of Rajasthan,” said Ruchi.
However, her PM Modi-inspired neck piece was the real show-stopper. Crafted with precision and meaning, the necklace was both a fashion statement and a patriotic gesture. “Prime Minister Modi has redefined India’s image across the world. I wanted to carry that pride with me, and this necklace was my tribute to his leadership.” explained Ruchi.
With her Cannes appearance, Ruchi Gujjar has emerged as a cultural icon, showcasing the beauty of Indian tradition while honouring a leader who has become a global symbol of India’s progress. “Representing Rajasthan and India at Cannes is not just a moment for me—it is a message to the world about who we are,” she concluded.
