Actor Himanshu Malhotra has joined the Rana Naidu franchise to essay a pivotal character in the second season of the Rana Daggubati-led series. Malhotra who was last seen on the big screen in Kesari Veer reveals the new season of the eagerly awaited show will represent a major milestone in his digital journey. Talking about his participation in the show, an excited Malhotra says, “I worked on a series called Mauka Ya Dhokha on Hungama about two and a half years ago, but this is my first major OTT project on a medium as big as Netflix in terms of scale and platform reputation”.

Himanshu will portray Paritosh Oberoi in Rana Naidu Season 2, a member of the newly formed Oberoi family the new plot introduces. “We have Tanuj Virwani essaying Chirag Oberoi’s character, Rajat Kapoor sir is playing Viraj Oberoi, and Kriti Kharbanda will be seen as Alia Oberoi in the show. Paritosh, my character, is Viraj Oberoi’s right-hand man in addition to being the family’s son-in-law. He participates in managing the empire” states Malhotra.
The actor further added that Rana Daggubati’s fixer character comes into the lives of the Oberois to sort their chaos. “The show begins in episode one and progresses rapidly over the course of the eight episodes, without giving too much away. Throughout various sequences, I give Rana’s character instructions on how to handle particular circumstances; some work out as intended, while others don’t. The tension rises there,” explains Malhotra.
Naturally, a number of considerations led Himanshu to immediately come on board the project. “The first season of Rana Naidu was a great success, secondly, it’s a Netflix initiative and third reason is of course—the stellar starcast”, remarked the actor. “I was genuinely thrilled to learn that I had prominent scenes with Rajat Kapoor sir, who plays my father-in-law. I was already creatively locked in, when I heard Kriti Kharbanda was also going to be part of the show followed by Tanuj, Rana sir, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Surveen Chawla.”, says Malhotra.
Even though Himanshu acknowledged that he doesn’t have many scenes with others, he found it very satisfying to be a part of the same project. “We still share the overall narrative space because they all are a part of Rana’s personal family. The team was excellent, the role was captivating, and the chance to collaborate with such talented people was too good to refuse” summed up Malhotra.
