The long-running conversation around Asim Riaz and Himanshi Khurana’s past relationship has taken a fresh turn after Himanshi spoke about the religious differences that, according to her played a role in their breakup. Now, Asim has responded publicly and strongly denying that he never asked anyone to change their religion and accusing his former partner of using a sensitive issue to create negativity around him.

Himanshi recently opened up about her relationship with Asim during an appearance on Paras Chhabra’s podcast. While discussing their differences in faith, she described feeling conflicted about religion and said she had faced pressure to understand and accept her partner’s faith. Her comments subsequently sparked a fresh debate about what went wrong between the two.
Asim has now broken his silence through a lengthy social-media post. Although he did not directly name Himanshi, the timing and references in his statement made it clear that he was responding to the controversy surrounding her remarks.
In His post Asim categorically denied ever asking anyone to change their religion. “I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not Once. So Please, don’t use religion as a weapon. It’s a deeply sensitive subject, and turning something so personal into a reason for people to hate me is immature and only shows how low you’re willing to go for attention.”

He went on and made several pointed remarks about his former relationship, including a claim that he had encouraged Himanshi to focus on fitness. “I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me before that, everyone knew how you looked.”
His post then moved beyond the religion controversy, with Asim also addressing questions around career, money, and who contributed what during their relationship. “When it came to my career, it never needed anyone to build it for me or claim credit for what they never contributed. Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But money was never the measure of character. Character is how far you’ re willing to fall when you’re desperate for attention, relevance, or a few more views.”
Asim further appeared to take a dig at the podcast and its host, Paras Chhabra, questioning the focus on old relationship stories and suggesting that personal matters were being brought back into the spotlight for attention. “Years later, digging through someone’s old relationship and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about. And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym.”
After pouring his heart out on Instagram, Asim took to X claiming that Himanshi had even tried to reconcile with him three months after their breakup. “So why did you msg me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship, Don’t worry I have the msg, screenshot, if needed i will post next time,” wrote Asim.
The latest exchange has once again brought Asim and Himanshi’s relationship into focus. The two, who became one of the most talked-about couples after meeting during Bigg Boss 13, had announced their breakup in December 2023. Their differing religious backgrounds had been discussed publicly previously too, but Himanshi’s recent comments and Asim’s subsequent response have again reignited the debate.
For now, the two sides have presented very different accounts of how religion affected their relationship. With both statements now public, the issue has become less about their past romance and more about two contrasting versions of what happened behind the scenes.
