Ace singer Shaan took music lovers back in time through the concert ‘Forever Kishore Shaan Se’ – his first-ever full-fledged tribute to the legendary Kishore Kumar at NMACC Grand Theatre in Mumbai. Presented by NR Talent and Event Management, the evening was a resounding celebration of nostalgia, artistry, and unbridled joy.

Shaan opened the night on a high with his smash hits Main Hoon Don and Om Shanti Om, before gliding into a soulful stream of Kishore Kumar classics beginning with Tum Bin Jaun Kahan, Mere Dil Mein Aaj Kya Hai, Tera Mujhse Hai Pehle Ka Naata Koi, and Kehna Hai. From romantic ballads like Dil Kya Kare to breezy duets such as Haal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka and Khullam Khulla alongside Nihira Joshi, the setlist, spanning nearly 70 songs, captured every shade of Kishore da’s genius.
The evening wasn’t just about music; it was alive with Shaan’s warmth and wit. He reminded the audience how ‘every singer’s first step is inspired somewhere by Kishore da’ and drew laughter by likening today’s obsession with WhatsApp blue ticks waiting for responses to the classic Inteha Ho Gayi Intezaar Ki. He connected Kishore Kumar’s optimism to today’s buzzwords of manifestation and affirmations, pointing to the song Jo Soche, Jo Chaahe Woh Karke Dikhade as proof that the legend was way ahead of his time.
A heartwarming moment was when Shaan’s son, Maahi, joined him on stage, with their rendition of O Mere Dil Ke Chain evoking loud cheers. Another came when Shaan sang duets like Saara Zamana Haseeno Ka Deewana and others with Kishore Kumar’s son, Sumeet Kumar, who was also present at the do. And as Chalte Chalte closed the night, the full-house audience swayed, many visibly emotional, to the enduring magic of Forever Kishore Shaan Se.
At the event, Shaan also honoured the late Zubeen Garg, who passed away earlier the same day, with a moving rendition of Yeh Jeevan Hai.
