In a disturbing incident that unfolded on Sunday, gunshots were fired outside the high-end residence of prominent Filmmaker Rohit Shetty in Juhu. The firing reportedly took place shortly after midnight between 12.30 and 1.00 am, drawing immediate attention of law enforcement agencies. Police officials stated that unknown assailants allegedly fired multiple rounds at the building where the director resides. Upon being alerted by his private security staff, the police team rushed to the location and secured the surrounding area to prevent further escalation.

Authorities confirmed that Shetty was inside his house at the time along with his family. Luckily no casualties were reported in the incident. Following the firing, Mumbai Police initiated standard operating procedures by sealing off the site and registering a case under relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Crime Branch officers and forensic experts were called in to inspect the scene, document damage, and gather physical evidence.

Investigative teams are examining CCTV footage from nearby buildings and access roads to piece together the movements of the suspects. Ballistic material recovered from the spot is also being analysed to determine the type of weapon used.

Latest Development in the Case:

In a threatening message released online, operatives of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang—identified as Shubham Lonkar (accussed in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique), Arju Bhishnoi, and Hari Boxer —have claimed responsibility for the firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence.

In the message, Lonkar called the firing as just a trailer and issued a direct threat to Shetty, warning him not to interfere in their work. The message further stated that the next bullet would be lodged straight in the chest, adding that the consequences would be worse than that of Baba Siddique.

The threat also extended to the Bollywood fraternity at large, with Lonkar warning members of the industry to mend their ways while there is still time, failing which the situation would get worse.

Meanwhile, as reported by ANI, the Pune Police had detained five suspects in connection with the incident, who are believed to have fled to Pune after the firing. They have been identified as Aman Anand Marote (27), Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20), Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23), Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19), and Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18). These suspects have been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch for further investigation and necessary action. As the probe continues, more details are awaited.
