Acclaimed actor Ayushmann Khurrana, who has hammered out a reputation through his brand of disruptive, progressive cinema in India, has been extended an invite to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this year.

“We are thrilled to invite this esteemed class of artists, technologists, and professionals to join the Academy. Through their commitment to filmmaking and to the greater movie industry, these exceptionally talented individuals have made indelible contributions to our global filmmaking community” said Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Janet Yang.

Prominent Artists from across the globe have been invited by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for their invaluable contributions to cinema and motion pictures. Ayushmann joins the likes of powerhouse celebrities like Gillian Anderson, Ariana Grande, Kamal Haasan, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, to name a few.  

Ayushmann has always received global praise for his groundbreaking cinema, a medium he has persistently utilised to subtly contribute towards development of the country. He has been honored twice by TIME Magazine – for the haloed TIME100 Impact Award 2023 and iconic TIME100 list in which he was chosen to be amongst the 100 Most Influential People of the World. Ayushmann is also involved in preserving children’s rights as the Ambassador of UNICEF India.
